JUNE 11, 2016 1-3:00 PM VILLAGE GREEN – WORTHINGTON
The Hunt is a fun way to explore the City of Worthington with your friends and family. Learn about Worthington’s history, government, schools, businesses and community groups while getting a physical and mental workout. You and your teammates will have to figure out clues to travel to various sites where you will have to complete certain tasks in order to be awarded points. Special prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams based on points earned in this event that is part scavenger hunt, part amazing race. It’s all fun and all challenging!
Who can participate?
Absolutely anyone. It is a walking/running tour of the city, generally within one mile of the Village Green. So be prepared to leave the car behind. Oh, no taxi’s or hitchhiking or bike sharing or segway cruising either.
What are the team sizes?
At least one person and a maximum of six. However, while having more brains figure out clues for where to go, it won’t necessarily help you earn more points when you get there. Teams of 2-4 are probably best so everyone can participate equally.
When and where is check-in?
On event day check-in will be from 12:15p-1p and we will be on the Northwest quadrant of the Village Green in front of the Griswold Center.
What is the course?
Well that’s up to you. The clues will lead you to sites within the Worthington City limits and you have exactly 2 hours to visit as many as you can and complete tasks to earn points.
What happens if it rains?
The race goes forward, rain or shine. Racer safety is our primary interest, so the only exception will be due to extremely hazardous weather, in which case we’ll send an email to all the attendees, post a notice on our website, Facebook and Twitter with further details about a new race date.
What is the refund policy?
All registrations are final and non-refundable for any reason, but are transferrable to another individual. In the case of a extremely rare postponement due to hazardous weather, your registration will automatically transfer to a make-up date.
What should we bring?
Well don’t forget your fanny pack! Seriously though, you really don’t need much. You won’t need anything at check-in other than to print and sign the Rules/Liability Waiver. Please gather them for everyone on your team before checking in to help streamline the check-in process. We’ll hook you up with some water and snacks to get you started. Smart phones are definitely allowed as a tool and you can pretty much bring any other resource including a GPS, encyclopedias, travel guides, a historian, etc. that you want to lug along!
After I sign up, what happens?
You’ll receive an email immediately from Eventbrite, our registration service, confirming your transaction. You can print it for your records if you’d like, but you don’t need to bring it on race day. We’ll send a couple of updates out to our racers, including the Rules/Liability Waiver about two weeks out and another a few days out. We are always available for any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
