Student Mentoring

What is the mentoring program?

Middle school and high school can be very confusing times for students, there are so many choices, overwhelming schoolwork and Challenging social pressures. Many successful students have engaged adults in their lives to help guide them through this quagmire of decisions. However, there are students who, for a variety of reasons, have found it hard to connect with a strong mentor on their own. Leadership Worthington’s mentoring program was developed in collaboration with Worthington City Schools in order to:

  • Identify students in need of and interested in meeting an adult community member who can serve as a mentor
  • Train the adult mentor to support, encourage and inspire their student mentee to reach their greatest potential
  • Create an environment that facilitates personal growth for the student
  • Support student mentees in their personal and academic lives, letting them know that they matter and can succeed
